Treatment Options: Clinical Care and Neuro‑Somatic Coaching

If you are seeking care for yourself, we can work together in two main ways:

  • Hands‑on clinical treatment using Polyvagal Acupuncture (PVA) or Polyvagal Massage (PVM) to directly support your autonomic nervous system and vagal pathways.

  • Neuro‑somatic coaching sessions that teach you how to work with your own nervous system through breath, posture, micro‑movement, and daily‑life practices. These can be done in person or via secure video (Zoom/FaceTime) and are especially helpful if you live at a distance, are not ready for hands‑on work, or want to integrate regulation skills between visits. Practitioners who live outside the area may wish to begin here for review of your condition, referral to appropriate body workers in your are and to learn how to rebalance your own nervous system before working with clients.

In your initial visit or consultation, we’ll clarify your history, current symptoms, and capacity, and then decide together whether hands‑on treatment, neuro‑somatic coaching, or a combination of both is the best starting point for you.

Both PVA® and PVM™ are priced identically based on the level of complexity needed. Sessions include functional medicine analysis and may integrate functional chemistry, reflex integration, and targeted support for gut issues (including SIBO and vagal biome) as part of the overall treatment plan.

The choice between PVA® and PVM™ is based solely on your comfort with needlework. Since the needle style is very gentle, many people choose a PVA/PVM combination and simply let me work where the fascia allows.

Polyvagal Acupuncture® (PVA®)

Method: The core, needle-based approach. Includes advanced tissue work, fascial release, and sinew channel target. Our orthopedic assessment includes advanced soft tissue tests and muscle tests.

Patient Assurance: This technique is painless. To restore parasympathetic tone, the needle technique must be painless.

Polyvagal Massage™ (PVM™)

Method: A distinct, non-needle therapeutic service. Uses light-touch bodywork and proprietary somatic techniques to achieve profound parasympathetic shifts and vagal tone restoration.

Ideal For: Clients requiring foundational neuro-somatic benefits without needles, including Sensitive Populations (Pediatrics, pregnancy, seniors, and chemotherapy clients).

Three Levels of Clinical Care (The Pricing Tiers)

We utilize three distinct levels to address the complexity of your neurological and orthopedic needs. The pricing reflects the time and depth required for each level, regardless of whether you choose PVA™ or PVM™:

1. Hit Medicine: Fast Relief for When You're Hurt:  Fast Relief for when you are hurt.

1. Acute / Hit Medicine: Note: Established clients only.

  • Price & Duration: $165 / 45 minutes (Standard session). Can be expanded up to $250 / 90 minutes for intensive, expanded care.

This is the right choice if you think:

  • "I threw my back out and I have to work!”

  • "I slept on my neck wrong and I can’t pick up my kid.”

  • "I tweaked my hamstring, and I have a race this weekend."

The Deal: This is hands-on work for symptoms only. It does not address the root cause (e.g. reflexes or nerve damage), or other deeper issues. The consultation is brief – no counseling or dietary assessment.  All treatments include tissue work and massage.  The Goal: A quick, effective "patch" that helps you feel like yourself again.  Polyvagal Acupuncture (PVA) often addresses in 1-2 visits what used to take 12.

Get in, get out.

2. Chronic & Complex Issues: For recurring patterns (e.g., chronic migraines, recurring sciatica). Focus is on resetting the underlying neurological fault, including lab and functional chemistry review.  Think Long COVID recovery, SVT, Cardiopathy, metabolic syndrome and diabetes, infertility. Soft tissue orthopedics like frozen shoulder or sciatica.  Post hip or knee replacement.  PTSD and CPTSD if you have had at least a year of counseling with a qualified mental health professional. All modalities included.

  • Price & Duration: $250 / 90 minutes. Table time can be expanded to 90 minutes total

3. Deep Neuro-Rehabilitation: Long-term therapeutic partnership for complex neurological or dysautonomia patterns (e.g., MS, stroke recovery, complex trauma). Available by consultation only. Parkinsons, MS, post-stroke sequela, TBI, central sleep apnea.  PT and yoga-based reflex integration, diet, functional medicine.  All modalities are included.

  • Price & Duration: $300-350 / 90-120 minutes
