Practitioner Development

 Polyvagal Acupuncture (PVA)®,  Polyvagal Massage™, and Polyvagal Touch™ practitioner development is available to qualified health and bodywork professionals, including acupuncturists, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, massage therapists, and somatic practitioners.  Training is with or without needles, and painless needle technique is required.  Dry-needling is prohibited in California so practitioners must stay within their license and scope.

Small-Group Practitioner Instruction

Small-group instruction is designed for 2–4 practitioners. A minimum of two practitioners is required because the work is learned through direct, table-based experience: each participant needs time to practice, observe, and receive the work.

Each training may be structured around the group’s professional background, clinical interests, and scope of practice. Groups may meet monthly, periodically, or as desired. Instruction may focus on foundational Polyvagal Touch™ practice or may be tailored to topics such as advanced orthopedic applications, dysautonomia and autonomic regulation, the primary freeze-response patterns, functional-medicine-informed considerations, and other relevant clinical areas.

Two 90-minute learning segments with a 30-minute break.  Classes can be expanded to 4-hours if desired. 

• $400 for 2 practitioners/450 for 4 Hours

• $450 for 3 practitioners/500 for 4 hours

• $500 for 4 practitioners/550 for 4 hours

Participants receive foundational learning materials and receive access to didactic private coursework and instructional videos prior if appropriate.  Any didactic course work over zoom calls for prep coursework prior to in person instruction.  Follow-up group calls may also be used if needed.  In the beginning, small groups are more effective for practitioners with similar levels of experience. Beginning providers often need more direct coaching.

Please do not bring a practice partner with acute medical concerns or complex trauma that would make a training environment unsuitable. Contact me before booking if you are unsure whether a practice partner is appropriate.

No CEUs or continuing-education credit are offered at this time. Formal certification in Polyvagal Acupuncture® (PVA), Polyvagal Massage™ (PVM), and Polyvagal Touch™ (PVAT) is forthcoming.

Certification and Use of Materials

Formal certification is still being developed. ​Participants may say that they attended a practitioner-development session and may discuss their experience. Attendance does not mean that they are certified, endorsed, or authorized to offer or teach Polyvagal Acupuncture or Polyvagal Touch.
